August 2026 Passenger, Cargo Traffic at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
AUSTIN, TEXAS – During August 2026, the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) serviced 1,804,578 departing and arriving passengers, reflecting the continued demand for air travel and the airport’s role as a vital gateway for Central Texas and beyond.
As AUS continues to grow and advance its Journey With AUS expansion program, the airport remains focused on creating the capacity and infrastructure needed to serve the region for generations to come.
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) passenger traffic growth for August 2026 was up 1.79% compared to August 2025.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for August 2026 was 1,804,578, up 1.79% compared to August 2025. August 2026 enplanements totaled 874,638 up 0.6%.
Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 733,533, up 5.9%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 366,899, up 6.3%; American Airlines passengers totaled 247,328, down 10.9%; United Airlines passengers totaled 236,708, up 9.4%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 55,471, down 19.6%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 40,828, down 16.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 28,762, up 266.2%; British Airways passengers totaled 24,340, up 11.8%; Air Canada passengers totaled 14,186, up 24.6%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 13,970, down 36.5%; Aeromexico passengers totaled 9,068, down 4.6%; Lufthansa passengers totaled 8,626, down 10.4%; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 6,707, up 14.1%; Copa Airlines passengers totaled 5,668, up 26.5%; VivaAerobus passengers totaled 4,712, up 38.7%; Porter Airlines passengers totaled 3,695; WestJet passengers totaled 2,083, down 37.7%; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 1,321, up 187.2%; and Cayman Airways passengers totaled 673.
August 2026 air cargo totaled 22,976,764 lbs., down 3.74% compared to August 2025.
International air cargo totaled 2,929,997 lbs., up 19.57% compared to August 2025.
Air Transport International carried 7,140,100 lbs., down 24.4%; Federal Express carried 4,220,672 lbs., down 0.2%; Sun Country Airlines carried 3,375,677 lbs., up 18.2%; and United Parcel Services carried 2,495,047 lbs., down 2.8%.
Air Services transferred 0 lbs. of mail, down 100%; and 3,904,196 lbs. of belly freight, up 19.91%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 3,561, down 0.17%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 22,806, no change.
January – August 2026
Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – August 2026 was 14,708,672, up 4.04% compared to January – August 2025. January – August 2026 enplanements totaled 7,351,845, up 3.81%.
Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 6,134,427, up 5.7%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 2,806,531, up 14.2%; American Airlines passengers totaled 2,058,795, down 12%; United Airlines passengers totaled 1,910,613, up 8.9%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 443,099, down 6.2%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 359,267, up 9%; British Airways passengers totaled 181,341, up 8.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 177,495, up 207.8%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 127,963, down 17.8%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 125,038, down 46.4%; Air Canada passengers totaled 90,388, up 6.8%; Aeromexico passengers totaled 67,890, down 3%; Lufthansa passengers totaled 58,536, down 4.8%; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 54,087, up 5.8%; Copa Airlines passengers totaled 47,196, up 17%; VivaAerobus passengers totaled 33,936, up 20.1%; Porter Airlines passengers totaled 12,465; WestJet passengers totaled 8,295, down 34.3%; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 7,289, up 4.3%; Cayman Airways passengers totaled 3,041; ITA Airways passengers totaled 283; Gridiron Air passengers totaled 263; Titan Airways passengers totaled 111; Omni Air International passengers totaled 94; Canadian North passengers totaled 64; KaiserAir passengers totaled 50; and Chrono Jet passengers totaled 35.
January – August 2026 air cargo totaled 178,250,870 lbs., down 1.49% compared to January – August 2025.
International air cargo totaled 19,575,147, down 2.35%.
Air Transport International carried 61,586,586 lbs., down 13.4%; Federal Express carried 31,873,668 lbs., up 1.6%; Sun Country Airlines carried 23,732,188, up 55.5%; and United Parcel Services carried 20,899,559 lbs., up 3.3%.
Air Services transferred 75,082 lbs. of mail, up 91.22%; and 25,000,656 lbs. of belly freight, down 0.37%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 28,807 for January – August 2026, up 5.61%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 182,646, up 5.26%.

About Journey With AUS
Journey With AUS is the Austin-Bergstrom Airport Expansion and Development program. The program is a strategic, phased approach to guiding construction and improvement projects, including select 2040 Master Plan projects and near-term improvements to address record-breaking growth at AUS. Journey With AUS projects will improve the passenger experience and meet the rising demand for air service at AUS through optimizing the Barbara Jordan Terminal through improvements that accommodate forecasted demand and enhance operations; expanding infrastructure to increase gates; constructing a new midfield concourse, and connecting tunnel. Driving regional economic recovery and supporting Austin’s growth is a primary goal of the program. The expansion program will make ~$400 million in funding available for small businesses.
