AUS Concession Industry Day Highlights Expansion Opportunities and Reinforces Commitment to Local Business Partnerships
AUSTIN, Texas – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) hosted its AUS Concession Industry Day event on April 22, 2026, bringing together local entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, retailers, and industry partners for a comprehensive look at upcoming opportunities tied to the airport’s continued growth.
The event provided attendees with a detailed overview of the Journey With AUS expansion program, including future concourse developments and the significant increase in concession opportunities expected as passenger volumes continue to rise.
A key theme throughout the event was AUS’s strong commitment to supporting local businesses and showcasing Austin’s unique culture through its concessions program. Airport leadership highlighted how local brands play a central role in shaping the passenger experience.
The airport’s concessions program is supported by a range of experienced prime concessionaires and independent contractors. These partners collaborate closely with AUS to bring a mix of national brands and locally owned businesses into the terminal, with a continued focus on expanding opportunities for Austin-based vendors. Representatives from Austin Small and Minority Business Resources also shared information on certification programs and resources available to small businesses.
The event concluded with a networking mixer, allowing attendees to connect directly with airport leadership, concessionaires, and potential business partners.
As AUS continues to expand, the Concession Industry Day event underscored the airport’s commitment to growing alongside its surrounding community, prioritizing local partnerships, creating economic opportunities, and ensuring that the traveler experience reflects the spirit and flavor of Austin.
